that’s funny that you wrote about the photo in your “about me” – I looked at your lobster pattern, and then I instantly was like, ooooh, what a gorgeous banner photo.
Its nice to see another college student from Maine knitting. All the groups I go to everyone is old enough to be my mother at least. Keep up the Maine knits!

(there are 2 kinds of tourists, the quick and the dead.)
I love your lobster and buoy patterns and will enthusiastically begin the lobster tonight. Your picture from Monhegan Island is beautiful – very tranquil and serene. I live in Massachusetts but spend my summers in Down East Maine – Surry/Blue Hill area. You have a fantastic site – please keep your creative and unique knitting patterns flowing! Thank you.
I love the lobster pattern. I am making one as a door stop for my parents who live on Rackliff Island. (Near Rockland and Tennants Harbor). I grew up there and I have visited Monhegan as part of a school visit in grade school. I love to knit and I am glad to see someone else about my age.

The lobster and buoy patterns are delightful – I spy baby gifts in the making. Two quick questions: where in VT are in school, and where on the coast are you from? I grew up in VT and am now living and teaching on Vinalhaven. So delightful to see other youngish knitters out there, there are a few of us here on the island.

I love the banner photo for your blog. I miss ME soooooooooo much! I had the pleasure to live in ME for about 4 years while my husband was stationed in Brunswick and hope we get to go back soon for a visit.
I recognized Monhegan because my bro is a year-rounder there. I am making your lovely lobster for my New Baby Nephew(!) and I thank you for the pattern.
it at the session & I meant it: I’m not having another baby (right now) to get pictures every 3 months. Maybe I’ll have to settle for pics every 6 months? Gah. I don’t even know how to decide. Can we work out a “lifer plan” or som??hinget?? Love the peek – can’t wait to see the rest!!!June 27, 2010 – 7:29 pm
How very generous of you to share your talents with virtual strangers. My eldest daughter and my future son-in-law live on Cape Cod and I shall be knitting these for their first Christmas tree. Thank you, and have a lovely Christmas of your own.
Love your patterns and your banner picture!
I am a knitter from PEI, but have many friends and family in Maine. Glad to follow a fellow knitter.
I’ve just found your lobster and buoy patterns by accident..I am married to a lobster fisherman in North Cornwall, Uk. My friends the Knitty Knoras will be giving these a go!! Ruth
Love your Maine patterns! I grew up in Harpswell, and now live in Stockton Springs. Thinking that we may be able to inspire Maine knitters to ” Stop the dredge!” with the sale of knit lobsters. Are you familiar with the Searsport dredging project that would dump spoils between isleboro and Belfast, potentially damaging precious lobster breeding ground? Any thoughts? I organize a number of knit related fundraisers, primarily Knitmaineia Fashion Show. Just thought I would reach out.
I am looKing for a pattern for a sweater which zips up, it has Maine fishing boats on it,buoys and lobsters. The lady who had it for her daughter bought it in Camden Maine. It is a spring/fall sweater jacket. Thanks
I made the lobster for a friend as a Christmas gift. We both love lobsters and Cardinal birds, red and redder! We seem to always give each other some form of both creatures every year. I haven’t given this gift yet but I am sure she will love it!
Thank you so much for creating and sharing this pattern. It was so much fun to make and quite easy. You really “captured” the lobster in a humane way.
